Tenebrism- I chose this painting titled "Judith Slaying Holofernes" by Antermisia Gentileschi. I chose this painting because Tenebrism is supposed to depict a dramatic illusion. In this painting you can really see the drama occuring while she is killing this man. It is much like her other painting depicted in the book titled "Judith and Maidservant with the Heald of Holofernes" both portraying dark and dramatic scenes.

Cross-hatching-I chose this piece by Michelangelo for cross-hatching. Cross-hatching is one set of hathes is crossed at an angle by a second, sometimes a third. In this drawing titled "Cleopatra". He uses a tighter cross hatching in her hair and the right side of her face and a looser one where it is lighter.

Arbitrary Color- Arbitrary color is when you paint something a certain color even though everyone knows that it's not that color for example painting the sun purple. In this Picasso painting titled "Three Musicians" Picasso depict the musicians in colors that are not realistic such as the musician being painted blue.

Local Color- Monet painted "Cliff Walk at Pourville" which depicts two people walking the cliffs. In local color it uses colors that people are used to such as an apple being painted red. In this painting Monet uses "local color" the sky and ocean are painted a beautiful blue and the cliffs and grass as well are painted to a very realistic color.

Op Art- In this picture by Bridget Riley titled "Moving Squares" is a great example of Op art. The way that she designed it makes it look as if the squares are moving.

Frottage- This picture designed by Max Ernst is a great example of frottage. Frottage is a process where Rubbing a piece of paper on a rough surface such as wood or stone to capture the texture for use in an artwork
